This February, our CEO Anna Laycock will be representing the Lab at the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) Summit in Vancouver, hosted by Vancity, Canada’s largest community credit union.
The Global Alliance for Banking on Values is an international network of banks with a collective commitment to making the banking system more transparent, sustainable and diverse. The GABV was founded in 2008, following the banking crisis, and now has 54 members across the world, serving over 50 million customers. The success of values-based banking is proof that finance can deliver sustainable economic, social and environmental development, helping individuals fulfil their potential and building stronger communities, while delivering better and more stable financial returns than those shown by the largest banks in the world.
On 18 February, Anna will be speaking at the Young Leaders Delegation, an opportunity for 30 young leaders to connect with senior leaders and passionate peers, and to learn how banking can enable social and environmental change.
The following day, Anna will be participating in the #MeToo exChange, discussing how inclusion and innovation in finance can help pave the way to a fairer financial system.
On 19 February, Anna will also take part in the flagship public event, Reimagining Economics: How living systems can fix a broken one. With keynote speaker John Fullerton, President of Capital Institute, the panel will discuss how Regenerative Economics can help shape a new economy.
We’d love to see you there! More information and tickets can be found at https://www.gabvsummit2019.com.
