On behalf of the Fair Banking for All Campaign, The Finance Innovation Lab has responded to the Deptartment for Business and Trade’s call for evidence on small business access to finance. Overall, we have argued that government’s recognition of the role of lenders such as Community Development Finance Institutions and cooperative and mutuals is welcome – and that government should support these sectors through the introduction of a Fair Banking Act.
