For The Better is back – an exciting opportunity for organisations working on financial health to grow their impact with award-winning communications support from Teamspirit.
Last year, the Lab partnered with Teamspirit to launch the For The Better award – and we’re delighted to be joining forces again to bring the prize back for 2019.
Together, we’re on the hunt for an organisation doing great work to improve financial health in the UK. The winner will benefit from £10,000 of Teamspirit’s award-winning, specialist communications support completely free of charge – helping them to communicate their work, raise their profile and scale their impact.
We’re proud of all the fantastic organisations in our community pioneering financial health, including debt and money advice charities, responsible lenders, and fintechs, and we’re excited to be able to offer this opportunity to amplify their important work. Ahead of launching the award, Teamspirit ran a poll to identify the top communications needs of financial health organisations, and found that brand identity and brand awareness are the areas where most organisations require support, as well as many needing help to identify their audience and plan their marketing. The award can be used to work on all these areas of communications, including but not limited to strategy, brand development, social strategy, design, creative, UX/UI consultancy and media training. The award is open to both start-ups and non-profits.
Last year two awardees benefitted from this support, with fantastic results. Avon Mutual, a new regional co-operative bank for the southwest of England, used their prize to create a unified brand position and compelling narrative and messaging framework ahead of their launch in 2020. Their team also worked with Teamspirit to develop a marketing and content strategy, which will be rolled out as Avon Mutual enters the market next year.
Vestpod, a financial empowerment platform for women, was the other worthy winner. Their founder Emilie Bellet used the prize for support on a social media campaign and event around International Women’s Day, as well as PR support. Read a full case study about Teamspirit’s work with Vestpod here.
Applications for this year’s award are open now, and close on 22 November. The winner will be announced in December, with support from Teamspirit starting in early 2020. Find out more and apply at: teamspirit.uk.com/for-the-better.
On 23 October we’re hosting an event for organisations working on financial health to find out more about For The Better, explore the challenges and opportunities of communicating about financial health, and connect with peers from the Lab community.
